Job Description
<p>What You'll Do</p><ul><li>Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Data Centre Services of Technology Services within PHSA, the IT Asset Analyst is primarily responsible for the provision/management of IT assets, infrastructure and support contracts for IMITS Technology Services (TS), including providing analysis on IT asset and infrastructure costing. This includes IT asset acquisition and IT asset management and IT support contract management.</li><li>In addition, this position is responsible for providing project management of IT asset acquisition and refresh initiatives.</li><li>Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of the acquisition of servers, storage, peripherals and network devices in support of all health authority users.</li><li>Performs the role of Project Manager for IT equipment hardware and support purchases; identifies and documents detailed business requirements and specifications; develops purchase plans based on client requirements, HW availability, supplier resources, service provider limitations, etc.; defines action items, establishes priorities; procures equipment and support quotes and orders equipment and services; performs the role of primary contact/ facilitator for all changes/ problem resolution; ensures completion of all tasks such as purchase reviews, and post-purchase reviews; updates inventory management system.</li><li>Develops, implements and maintains a plan for managing the entire asset management lifecycle of hardware including servers, storage and other data centre equipment.</li><li>Establishes and maintains an inventory of IT assets so as to be able to immediately respond to requests.</li><li>Establishes and maintains a list of IT hardware and software support contracts and manages the renewal and extension of contracts. 6. Identifies and solves problems with asset inventory and contracts and make recommendations on consolidating contracts or changing to different support vendors.</li><li>Produces detailed documentation on IT asset and support contract costing; provides analysis of and recommendations to IMITS Management on strategies for services and cost reduction strategies.</li><li>Escalates and/or refers issues to managers and directors as required, complete with specific information regarding the issue and recommendations.</li><li>Researches and evaluates various technological solutions; recommends new/ revised service delivery options, technologies, products and services to ensure IMITS Technology Services' initiatives are aligned with current best practices, technological trends and upgradeable for future needs.</li></ul><p>What You Bring</p><ul><li>Graduation from a recognized two year computer systems technology diploma program, plus three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
