Job Description

<p><h3>Overview</h3>
<p>This role involves managing warehouse staff, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and defining, implementing, and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives and technologies. The Warehouse Manager will collaborate with other departments to optimize operations and improve efficiency and effectiveness.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities and Accountabilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Oversee the warehouse operations of Powersmiths multiple GTA-based locations.</li>
<li>Oversee daily warehouse operations including material inputs receiving and storage, material picking and preparation/value-add for the production lines, and shipping of finished products.</li>
<li>Manage and oversee intercompany and interbuilding product moves.</li>
<li>Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, safety, quality, and service levels.</li>
<li>Value-stream map current operations and research, identify, evaluate and implement warehouse operations technologies and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.</li>
<li>Manage inventory control, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and proper organization and identification to ensure inventory accuracy and on-time.</li>
<li>Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and train and manage employees to achieve short- and long-term performance goals.</li>
<li>Define, maintain, and conduct day-to-day and long-term Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) plan of warehouse tools, machinery, equipment, and facilities.</li>
<li>Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and applying standards and procedures to comply with company requirements and legal regulations.</li>
<li>Manage shipping coordination including contact with carriers, and documentation administration including bills of lading and packing lists.</li>
<li>Work with the supply chain team to forecast inventory needs of consumables and indirect purchasing needs.</li>
<li>Identify slow moving inventory and work with Operations team for disposition.</li>
<li>Define, develop, and implement strategies for environmental and social stewardship, such as waste and/or packaging materials reduction or returnable packaging/dunnage.</li>
<li>Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.</li>
<li>Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.</li>
<li>Develop strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve service levels.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.</li>
<li>Experience: 7 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a management role.</li>
<li>Experience applying project management best practices.</li>
<li>Experience in a fast growing manufacturing setting.</li>
<li>Technical Skills:
<ul>
<li>MS Office proficiency, specifically MS Word and MS Excel</li>
<li>Experience with ERP systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of ERP/inventory management/WMS software and implementation strategies.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy.</li>
<li>Methodical and process-oriented, always following established procedures.</li>
<li>Strong ability to manage time and tasks efficiently.</li>
<li>Strong leadership and team management skills.</li>
<li>Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Effective communication skills, both intra- and interdepartmentally.</li>
<li>Fluent in English, both verbal and written.</li>
<li>Able to clearly see small irregularities or defects on parts.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Working Conditions</h3>
<p>Environment</p>
<ul>
<li>This role is located primarily in a production area within a manufacturing facility.</li>
<li>The work environment may include exposure to moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and industrial equipment.</li>
</ul>
<p>Physical Requirements</p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse and production areas for extended periods throughout the work day</li>
<li>Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs.</li>
<li>Forklift certified.</li>
</ul>
<p>Safety</p>
<ul>
<li>Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and other protective gear.</li>
<li>Participation in safety training sessions and adherence to safety protocols and company guidelines.</li>
</ul>
