This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to lead audit and tax engagements, work directly with business owners, and grow professionally in a dynamic setting.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead audit engagements from start to finish for small to mid-sized businesses and professional corporations</li><li>Manage risk assessments, internal controls evaluation, fieldwork, and preparation of audited financial statements</li><li>Review complex corporate, personal, and trust tax returns prepared by your team, ensuring compliance with current regulations</li><li>Provide strategic tax guidance, including estate and succession planning for owner-managed businesses</li><li>Mentor and support junior and intermediate staff accountants, providing constructive feedback and professional development</li><li>Conduct year-end client meetings, presenting financial statements and sharing insights on audit and tax findings</li><li>Build and maintain strong client relationships, anticipating needs and identifying opportunities for added value</li><li>Draft client communications and internal technical memos on accounting and tax matters</li><li>Stay up to date on accounting standards, tax legislation, and industry best practices</li><li>Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>CPA designation in good standing</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm, with strong audit and assurance experience</li><li>Proven ability to manage and lead audit files independently</li><li>Solid knowledge of Canadian accounting (ASPE) and tax standards</li><li>Experience working directly with business owners and high-net-worth clients</li><li>LLQP license is an asset, or willingness to obtain</li><li>Proficiency with accounting software such as CaseWare, TaxCycle, QuickBooks, or similar tools</li><li>U.S. tax knowledge is a bonus but not required</li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Strong leadership and team management capabilities</li><li>Excellent communication and client-facing skills</li><li>Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple deadlines</li><li>Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented approach</li><li>Committed to long-term growth and leadership opportunities</li></ul><p><br />This is a chance to step into a senior role where your expertise is valued, your leadership makes an impact, and your career can grow.
