Logistics Supervisor

As a key member of the Canadian Team, the Logistics Supervisor will be critical to the strategic and operational development of our Logistics department during the start-up and ramp-up of Hilton Foods Canada.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To manage the day to day shift logistics team, ensuring that all logistics targets are met and all procedures are followed at all times.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prioritise and control work that is allocated to staff using all resources effectively and efficiently.
• Manage the training and development of operatives to ensure legal compliance and operational continuity.
• Working with the Logistics Admin Staff to record and resolve any discrepancies and/or problems and ensuring quality checks and operational updates are completed as required.
• Deputise for the Warehouse Manager during periods of absence or annual leave.
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Carry out formal investigations, where necessary, in line with the company’s Disciplinary & Grievance Policy.
• Manage all physical aspect of the logistics operation.
• Ensure all Health and Safety requirements, Company SOPs and all policies and procedures are complied with at all times by yourself and all members of your team.
• Ensure that company standards for hygiene and housekeeping are met with all staff using the correct P.P.E.
• Manage the development of direct reports and operatives to ensure legal compliance and operational continuity.
• Manage the logistics admin team to provide all reports, paperwork, Quality checks and operational updates are completed as required and ensure tray and pallet control is monitored and adequate stock levels held on site.
• Champion the Lean methodology within logistics driving continuous improvement through teams.
• Any other tasks as seen to be within the job holders capability.
• Provide Senior Manager and Department Heads with a daily report highlighting any issues and outcomes.

KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Intermediate / Advance level of IT proficiency, to include Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
• Previous Warehouse experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.
