Job Description
<p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>Calian is seeking 2 Intermediate Subject Matter Experts to assist our client with the facilitation of their project.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide expert recommendations on the use of domain-specific capabilities (e.g., artillery, infantry, logistics) at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.</li>
<li>Deliver subject matter expertise on command and control (C2) and C4ISR systems employed by the CAF, coalition partners, and allied forces.</li>
<li>Support the installation, integration, and configuration of C2 and C4ISR systems, ensuring interoperability, including voice and machine-to-machine communications across network infrastructures.</li>
<li>Develop and refine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) based on operational experience and evolving needs.</li>
<li>Support the planning and execution of wargaming, research, analysis, and Canadian Army doctrine development initiatives.</li>
<li>Provide briefings and capability demonstrations to senior staff, stakeholders, and visiting delegations, including comparative assessments with allied or competing systems.</li>
<li>Capture and analyze and/or interpret operational data and prepare performance reports.</li>
<li>Identify and recommend tools, systems, and methodologies to integrate C2 and C4ISR capabilities into experimentation and training scenarios.</li>
<li>Ensure accurate scenario representation and data integrity in alignment with current TTPs for training and experimentation purposes.</li>
<li>Contribute to the design and development of scenarios and training exercises, including integration of AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies.</li>
<li>Advise on conceptual frameworks, methodological approaches and design development.</li>
<li>Provide clear and constructive feedback on draft concepts and designs, including terminology, definitions, and process improvements.</li>
<li>Submit key reference documentation to support development and validation activities.</li>
<li>Attend and actively participate in in-person and remote working groups, seminars, and meetings as directed by the Technical Authority.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Must have a post-secondary degree from a Canadian University or College</li>
<li>Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience, within the last 10 years, working on a project, supervising a project or advising a military commander in relation to at least one of the following:</li>
<li>
<ul>
<li>CAF Operational Functions: Experience working on the development of one or more of the Canadian Armed Forces operational functions within fighting power: Command, Sense, Act, Shield, Sustain</li>
<ul>
<li>C4ISR Systems</li>
<li>Communication and Information Systems (CIS)</li>
<li>Military doctrine or policy</li>
<li>Concept and Design processes</li>
<li>Military intelligence</li>
<li>Logistics</li>
<li>Targeting</li>
<li>Or other military specialty specified in a task authorization request</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Military Operations and Leadership Functions: Advising, supporting, or executing military functions related to:
<ul>
<li>Operations</li>
<li>Planning</li>
<li>Institutional leadership</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<h3>Additional Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Must have or be eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level</li>
