This is a working Foreman role requiring the successful candidate to provide mentorship and guidance to crew members on the proper work methods required to complete assigned tasks.</p><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive hourly wage (starting at $55.00/HR)</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits plan </li><li>Enrolment in Pension Program</li><li>Vacation pay & Stat Holiday pay</li><li>Company Vehicle, Fuel Card, Phone and Laptop</li><li>Frequent overtime opportunity </li><li>Annual boot allowance of $250 & annual clothing allowance of up to $900</li><li>Family orientated working environment </li><li>Opportunities for career growth and development </li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Emulates Forbes Bros core value of &#39;WE WORK SAFE&#39; in all daily tasks</li><li>Provide supervision and planning in the successful completion of distribution projects</li><li>Oversee the method of construction, manpower, equipment and material needed and quality control</li><li>Plans daily activities, conduct tailboards, ensuring workers confirm fit for duty, and conduct tailboard for any work deviation</li><li>Direct and participate in day-to-day work activities as a working Foreman to ensure that established goals and objectives are met</li><li>Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices</li><li>Report on problems and the solutions to the Construction Manager</li><li>Enforce and ensure compliance to Health & Safety and wok practices</li><li>Enforce equipment maintenance schedule and advise when repairs are required</li><li>Manage crew concerns and issues and elevate when required</li><li>Identifies and makes recommendations for improvement of work methods to the leadership team at the construction site</li><li>Assisting with continuous improvement projects and other operational tasks as required </li></ul><p><strong>What We Are Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>Journeyman Powerline Technician Trade Certificate, <strong><em>is required</em></strong></li><li>Minimum of five (5) years&#39; experience in the powerline trade, <strong><em>is required</em></strong></li><li>Class 5 Driver&#39;s License,<strong><em> is required</em></strong></li><li>Previous leadership experience as a Lead Hand or Foreman, <em>an asset</em></li><li>English proficiency with the ability to read, comprehend, and execute written work plans, blueprints, and writing schematics</li><li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to direct a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines</li><li>Flexible with hours worked, travel, and working in adverse weather conditions</li><li>Able and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours when required</li><li>Able and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments inclusive of heavy lifting</li><li>Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver&#39;s Abstract </li></ul><p><strong>Disclaimer: </strong>As per client/site requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening. </p><p><strong><em>Forbes Bros Ltd. </em></strong><em>is an equal opportunity employer committed to best practice recruiting and hiring, to promote gender equality and workplace diversity.
