Job Description <p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Job Summary </strong><br />A Family Law Associate is sought to join the legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, and at least five years of legal experience. This role involves representing clients in various family-related legal matters, including divorce, child custody, and adoption cases, although other areas of law in addition to family law may be explored, at the candidate's request. The successful candidate will manage their own family law files. You will also work with and supervise junior lawyers, where necessary, and support staff. </p><p><strong>Requirements </strong> </p><ul><li><p>Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school. </p> </li><li><p>Active license to practice law in Alberta. </p> </li><li><p>Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on family law preferred. </p> </li><li><p>Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients. </p> </li><li><p>Excellent research capabilities to analyze complex legal issues. </p> </li><li><p>Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents. </p> </li><li><p>Proficiency in using legal research tools such as LexisNexis is a plus. </p> </li><li><p>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike. </p> </li> </ul><p>We offer competitive compensation packages, including salary commensurate with experience and a significant bonus structure.
