<p><h3>Overview</h3><p><b>Kanaweyimik</b> Child & Family Services Inc. is a Child and Family Services Agency located in Battleford, Saskatchewan. Kanaweyimik provides statutory and support services to four First Nations communities in Saskatchewan: Moosomin, Mosquito, Saulteaux and Sweetgrass.</p><p><b>Kanaweyimik</b> is now seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated person to fill the position of Executive Director. The new Executive Director will lead a highly committed management team in the continued expansion of the Agency’s vision.</p>
<h3>The Position</h3><p>Reporting directly to a community-based Board of Directors, the Executive Director will possess an advanced understanding of Child and Family Services and have a proven track record of success in management, program development and evaluation. The Executive Director will have a history of progressive management and administrative experience in a mandated Child and Family Service organization complemented by demonstrated skill and knowledge in the administration of a not for profit organization. The successful candidate will also have experience in the development, management, and oversight of agency budgets.</p>
<h3>The Qualifications</h3><p>The successful candidate will preferably have the following:</p><ul><li>A Master’s Degree in Social Work or related discipline; Master in Public Administration or Business Administration with specialization in Child and Family Services as well as experience working at a senior management or executive level and a minimum of 5 years front line social work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;</li><li>Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated effective administrative, financial and human resources management abilities;</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills in order to create and maintain relationships with multi-level organizations;</li><li>Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, judgment and decision making abilities; and</li><li>Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s Child and Family Services Act.</li></ul><p>Be knowledgeable and sensitive to Aboriginal issues with an understanding of the dynamics of intergenerational effects of abuse.</p><p>Knowledge of the Cree language;</p><p>Computer skills are a position requirement;</p><p>Excellent verbal, written and time management skills;</p><p>Must have a valid drivers’ licence;</p><h3>Application Process & Requirements</h3><p>All shortlisted applicants:</p><ul><li>Will present a clear criminal records check at the time of their interview;</li><li>are required to provide a Child Abuse Records check;</li><li>will undergo an extensive screening and background check;</li><li>will submit 6 personal and 6 professional references;</li><li>will undergo several interviews that may require travel.</li></ul><p>Salary will be commensurate with experience, training and education.
