<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: <br /><p>Journeyman Carpenter / Fence & Deck Builder</p><p><br /></p><p>GCS is looking for a Journeyman Carpenter / fence & deck builder to work in their carpentry division. The ideal candidate would possess a strong work ethic and have experience building decks, fences, privacy screens, pergolas, and a general knowledge of all aspects of framing and outdoor carpentry.</p><p><br /></p><p>We offer competitive wages, health and dental benefits, and other perks like free golf!</p><p><br /></p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>Construct decks, fences, pergolas and concrete formwork for projects in the Edmonton area</li><li>Read and understand landscape plans</li><li>Confident in measuring and use tape measures, levels, and angle finding</li><li>Ability to use power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, etc.</li><li>Building pressure treated, cedar and composite/PVC decks, stairs, fences, privacy screens, pergolas, benches, gates, etc.</li><li>Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction<br /></li><li>Works diligently toward building and maintaining a high level of quality</li><li>Follow and enforce company polices for all on site personnel<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>REQUIREMENTS</p><ul><li>Minimum 3 years carpentry experience<br /></li><li>Motivated, hard working, punctual</li><li>Valid driver&#39;s license and clean abstract</li><li>Physically fit</li><li>Strong time management skills</li><li>High attention to detail and very customer service orientated</li><li>Familiar with the maintenance and use of various woodworking tools i.e., table saw, mitre saw, circular saw, drills etc.</li><li>Gas powered tool maintenance and operation</li><li>Safe truck and trailer loading and operation<br /></li><li>Able to handle basic carpentry tasks (i.e., fence construction, basic deck framing, post setting)</li><li>General understanding of construction procedures<br /></li><li>Safety conscious</li><li>Organized and good with documentation</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS</p><ul><li>CSTS 2020 (with WHMIS 2015)</li><li>Intermediate First Aid</li></ul></p></p>
