We provide an engaging work environment, respect, and dignity, investing in our teams' growth and development.</p><h3>About the Role</h3><p>The Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) reports to the Director of Care (DOC) and/or designate. The ADOC provides direct resident care, mentors staff, and ensures individualized, resident-focused care. Acts as a professional role model and maintains accountability for nursing staff to provide appropriate care.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Engage and mobilize your team to achieve organizational goals.</li><li>Develop and maintain professional relationships supporting organizational culture.</li><li>Model organizational values and leadership behaviors, inspiring others.</li></ul><h3>Nursing</h3><ul><li>Monitor and supervise care provided to residents.</li><li>Conduct audits and implement corrective actions for quality improvement.</li><li>Participate in care conferences, medication reviews, and quality meetings.</li><li>Fill in as a nurse on the floor during staffing shortages.</li></ul><h3>External Stakeholders</h3><ul><li>Communicate with physicians and families regarding resident care.</li><li>Attend care conferences and follow up on recommendations.</li></ul><h3>Human Resources</h3><ul><li>Hire and manage clinical staff.</li><li>Participate in performance reviews and staff meetings.</li><li>Attend Occupational Health & Safety meetings.</li><li>Review incident reports and follow up accordingly.</li></ul><h3>Audits and Education</h3><ul><li>Support clinical staff education and best practices.</li><li>Assist with clinical and mandatory audits.</li></ul><h3>Regulations</h3><ul><li>Ensure care plans are current and compliant.</li><li>Report incidents timely and adjust care plans as needed.</li></ul><h3>Financial</h3><ul><li>Manage nursing resources responsibly.</li></ul><h3>General</h3><ul><li>Participate in orientation, community programs, and meetings.</li><li>Maintain a safe environment, manage emergency procedures, and infection control.</li><li>Operate in the absence of the Director of Care and fulfill on-call duties.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications & Skills</h3><ul><li>Current registration with BCCNM as RN or LPN.</li><li>Degree in nursing with leadership and administrative experience.</li><li>Minimum three years in management/administration.</li><li>Experience in geriatrics or relevant education and experience.</li><li>Pass a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.</li><li>Proficient in English, electronic health records, and communication skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, coaching, conflict management, and time management skills.</li></ul><p>West Coast Seniors Housing Management is an equal opportunity employer.</p>Create Your Resume First
