If you are passionate about making a difference in healthcare and are committed to upholding these values, we encourage you to apply and join us in our journey towards a more inclusive and equitable future.<br><br>Accommodations are available upon request at any stage in the selection process. </p><p>YOUTH WORKER </p><p>Bargaining Unit: UNIFOR-SMITH<br><br>Status: TEMPORARY Full Time<br><br>Department: Youth Services<br><br>Site: Sister Margaret Smith Centre<br><br>Shifts: Days/Evenings/Nights including weekends<br><br>Rate of Pay: $ $30.457 per hour </p><ul><li>The Youth programs run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.</li></ul><p>Qualifications: </p><ul><li>Diploma in Child and Youth Work</li><li>Minimum 2 year diploma/degree in Human Services</li><li>CPR/Standard First Aid training is required</li><li>Safe Food Handling certificate is required</li><li>Preference to applicants with previous experience working with substance use issues and experience working within a residential setting with youth and young adults</li><li>Experience working with mental health issues</li><li>Minimum of 3 years experience working with youth sixteen to twenty years of age and their families</li><li>Must have demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and facilitating behavior management and group programs for youth</li><li>Valid Class "G" driver's license and adequate insurance</li><li>Demonstrated regular attendance at work</li></ul><p>CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT<br><br>This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions. </p><p>Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date.
