<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>WiSE Winter 2026 Co-op: Software Developer / Automation Consultant (4 Months) role at CGI. This position is for a software developer/automation consultant to work as a member of the Insurance Information Services (IIS) Delivery/Operations team in the Toronto Financial Services business unit (Insurance Sector). Start Date: January 2026. Application Deadline: September 26, 2025. The Women in STEM Excel (WiSE) co-op program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Review manual processes within the Delivery/Operations team and replace with automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.</li><li>Collaborate with operations, new product development, and test automation to define requirements for automation opportunities.</li><li>Use strong analysis and development skills to select appropriate tools (UI Path, Katalon, scripting languages, VBA, etc.) to deliver automated solutions.</li><li>Follow the SDLC and CGI processes to ensure development, quality, and delivery standards are met.</li><li>Provide stakeholders with transparency on automation tasks and status.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science/IT or related IT discipline or equivalent experience.</li><li>Ability to quickly understand the insurance industry and related products.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.</li><li>Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (Java/JavaScript/Groovy/C#/VBScript).</li><li>Hands-on SQL experience with relational databases.</li><li>Nice to have: Experience in test automation tools like Selenium, Katalon Studio, Cucumber BDD, Postman/SOAP UI for API testing.</li><li>Nice to have: Experience in RPA Automation/UI Path.</li><li>Operating Systems: Linux, Windows.</li></ul><h3>Learning & Development & Perks</h3><ul><li>Onboarding and integration activities starting on day one, including business etiquette and foundations of business consulting.</li><li>Developing your elevator pitch, networking with peers across Canada, and mentorship with CGI leaders.</li><li>Opportunity to obtain the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for Teams Certification: Technical Skills Agility.</li><li>Expand your network through national and local co-op activities and access to learning resources on CGI’s e-learning platform.</li><li>Professional development workshops focused on soft skills and agile methods; AI hackathon participation with potential prize.</li><li>Fast track to future opportunities at CGI.</li></ul><h3>About CGI & Equal Opportunity</h3><p>CGI is an equal-opportunity employer.
