We’re hiring for a large construction equipment warehouse in the GTA. Under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of their team during the assigned shift. This includes tasks such as selecting, verifying and packing the correct assortment of inventory items before shipping, supervising the stocking of delivery trucks and ensuring the correct products are shipped. The role also involves managing employee-related issues and engagement, directing and optimizing team performance, as well as ensuring the security of the building and products, including opening and closing procedures when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Oversee a team of warehouse associates, providing training, coaching, and scheduling.
  • Order Coordination: Organize and delegate tasks for same-day and next-day order preparation.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Analyze data to identify improvement areas and implement processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Compliance: Ensure trucks are accurately loaded, depart on time, and that loads are secured per guidelines.
  • Error Resolution: Review and resolve putaway errors, making necessary recommendations.
  • Safety Procedures: Develop and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Maintain effective communication with other departments and management.
  • Facility Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and orderly to comply with health and safety regulations.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in operational management and team supervision.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, processes, and inventory management.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Decision-Making: Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage staff effectively.
  • Computer Skills: High proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Business Intelligence systems.
  • Industry Experience: Past or current work experience in a construction equipment distribution capacity is an absolute asset!
