<p>cole Whitehorse Elementary is located within the traditional territory of the people of Kwanlin Dn First Nation and the Taan Kwchn Council. cole Whitehorse Elementary is a single-track French Immersion school Grades K-7 with a student population of approximately 450. Our bilingual students enjoy learning in French everyday with specialty classes in music, outdoor education, Applied Art and Design and Physical Education all instructed in French. We have a vibrant sports culture with running clubs, intermural sports and outdoor education. Our music, movement and arts programming delivered in French strive to promote the arts. <p>We are currently seeking a talented Francisation / French Learning Assistance French Immersion teacher (0.2 FTE) to join the cole Whitehorse Elementary School team from August 21 2025 to June 12 2026.</p>

<li>FTE: 0.2</li>
<li>Start Date: August 21 2025</li>
<li>End Date: June 12 2026</li>

</ul>
<p><b>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</b></p>
<p>Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume how you meet the following qualifications and experience :</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Education or equivalent with coursework in special education;</li>
<li>Experience supporting students second language learning;</li>
<li>Recent experience teaching in an elementary school setting;</li>
<li>Recent experience working with and facilitating collaborative multi-disciplinary School Based Team in identifying and programming for students with diverse learning needs;</li>
</ul>
<p><b>DESIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:</b></p>
<p>Candidates should have and may be assessed on their :</p> <ul>
<li>Strong ability to develop differentiated instructional opportunities for students and to collaborate with classroom teachers to do the same;</li>
<li>Ability to effectively document students learning needs;</li>
<li>A knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of the First Nations people of Yukon and a culturally diverse student population;</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills to work with students staff parents and the greater community in meeting the social emotional and academic needs of all students;</li>
<li>Ability to engage and motivate students in the learning process;</li>
<li>Experience using and integrating technology as part of teaching learning and assessment.</li>
<li>Experience using assessment for learning strategies;</li>
<li>Strong planning and organization skills;</li>
</ul>
<p><b>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</b></p>
