Technical Project Manager – Web Development (Next.js & WordPress)

Rehab CEOs Saskatoon

Job Description

About Rehab CEOs

Rehab CEOs is a high-growth coaching and marketing company that helps physical therapy clinic owners scale profitable, well-run practices.

Our websites are not “pretty brochures”—they are conversion systems. Speed, reliability, and execution matter here.

We are currently evolving our website infrastructure to improve page speed, performance, and scalability—while maintaining aggressive launch timelines for new clients. This role exists to ensure that evolution happens without sacrificing quality or momentum.

The Role (Read This Carefully)

We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to work directly under our Head of Website Development.

This is not a junior PM role.

This is not a passive coordinator role.

Your job is to:

  • Ensure website projects move forward on time
  • Catch issues before clients ever see them
  • Hold developers accountable to quality and performance standards
  • Understand the technical details well enough to make real decisions

If you don’t understand web development, this role will be overwhelming.

If you do, this role gives you real leverage and authority.

What You’ll Actually Be Responsible For1. Project Ownership & Momentum
  • Own multiple website builds at once
  • Enforce launch timelines and internal SLAs
  • Track dependencies, blockers, and risks
  • Push projects forward when momentum slows
  • Coordinate between developers, designers, and internal stakeholders

Our goal: clients see a new site within ~14 days of onboarding.

Your job is to protect that standard.

2. Quality Control (This Is the Core Function)

You are the final internal checkpoint before anything reaches a client.

You will review websites for:

  • Layout and visual consistency
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Page speed and performance red flags
  • SEO basics (structure, metadata, indexing readiness)
  • Broken links, forms, tracking, embeds
  • Conversion elements functioning correctly

“Good enough” does not ship here.

Your job is to say “this isn’t ready yet” when needed—and explain why.

3. Technical Oversight (Hands-On Knowledge Required)

You are not the primary developer—but you must understand the system well enough to direct it.

You must be comfortable with:

  • WordPress (our current production platform)
  • Custom-coded WordPress themes (not page builders)
  • Understanding why page builders create performance issues
  • Website performance fundamentals (Core Web Vitals, page speed bottlenecks)
  • Basic infrastructure concepts:
  • Domains & DNS
  • Hosting environments
  • Caching concepts (e.g. Cloudflare)
  • Knowing when an issue is:
  • A dev issue
  • An infra issue
  • A process issue

You do not need to write production code—but you must know when something is wrong and how to push it to resolution.

4. Leadership & Communication
  • Lead with clarity and calm authority
  • Give direct, actionable feedback to developers
  • Escalate issues early—no surprises
  • Keep leadership informed without over-communicating
  • Translate technical issues into plain English when needed

This role sits at the intersection of execution, quality, and accountability.

Who This Role Is For

This role is for someone who:

  • Has led projects or people before
  • Understands both technical details and execution pressure
  • Is organized, decisive, and proactive
  • Takes pride in shipping clean, high-performing work
  • Is comfortable holding strong opinions backed by reasoning

This role is not for someone who:

  • Needs step-by-step instructions
  • Avoids accountability or hard conversations
  • Is overly attached to one tech stack
  • Thinks shipping slower = higher quality
Required Experience
  • Experience managing website development projects
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress
  • Experience working with custom-coded themes (not Elementor / Divi-heavy environments)
  • Understanding of website performance and optimization concepts
  • Basic DNS & domain management knowledge
  • Experience coordinating developers and stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Nice to Have (Not Required):

  • Exposure to Cloudflare or similar CDN tools
  • Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (for future readiness, not current ownership)
Compensation (U.S. / Canada)

Estimated Range:

$50,000 – $70,000 USD annually

(depending on experience and demonstrated technical judgment)

Top-end compensation is reserved for candidates who:

  • Have managed high-volume website builds
  • Show strong quality control instincts
  • Can clearly explain why performance issues happen—not just that they exist
How to Apply (Mandatory)

We do not consider resumes alone.

To apply:

  • Record a Loom video (3–7 minutes max)
  • Email it to spratlin@rehabceos.com

In your Loom, cover:

  • Your experience managing website projects
  • Your experience with WordPress and performance optimization
  • How you approach quality control
  • A time you stopped a project from shipping—and why
  • Why this role fits how you operate

Applications without a Loom will not be reviewed.
