Our client is seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious Systems Administrator to join a growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.
You'll play a critical role in implementing system and security best practices, managing on-premises and cloud-based systems, and ensuring the reliability and resilience of IT operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT and security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain computer systems, applications, and networks across On-Premises and Azure environments.
- Implement and enforce system hardening standards, patch management, and update policies.
- Manage and troubleshoot Office 365, Azure IaaS, and PaaS infrastructure.
- Ensure data backups are performed securely and reliably across On-Premises, Office 365, and Azure environments.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Support and manage core Microsoft services such as Active Directory, Windows Server, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Oversee endpoint management including software deployment, device configuration, and policy enforcement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business operations and resolve complex technical issues.
- Educate users on cybersecurity awareness and promote IT security best practices.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, network diagrams, and procedural guides.
- Support disaster recovery planning and participate in security incident response activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience (4+ years).
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365.
- Experience with Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Azure Networking, App Services, and Azure Storage).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V).
- Proficiency with security tools such as antivirus, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management systems.
- Familiarity with identity and access management, MFA, and privileged access controls.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent) are an asset.
