SVP National Sales

PRIMARY PURPOSE:



This Senior Vice President will be responsible for driving all sales and account management functions; ensuring that highly productive relationships and partnerships are maintained with clients. The Sr. VP will develop a high caliber sales team that will be responsible for building a robust three-tiered prospect funnel, and will hold direct responsibility for account management, including new and current accounts. The Sr. VP will also be involved in pricing, working on budget growth, responding to RFP’s, marketing, and forward-thinking strategy that ensures the company remains competitive and well positioned in the marketplace.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Works with MD to develop and retain high caliber sales staff and personnel pipeline.
  2. Conduct monthly reviews prospect funnel, open RFP’s and sales staff activity and success.
  3. Work with MD of Account Management on current accounts growth opportunities.
  4. Ensure collaboration with sales and district managers to pursue new opportunities.
  5. Hold sales staff accountable to budgeted goals and professional expectations.
  6. Work with NVP Acct. Management, RVP’s, DM’s, Finance and MD of Sales to draw up budgeted goals and growth for targeted accounts.
  7. Strengthen the brand by marketing at trade shows and taking part in professional organizations.
  8. Manage growth initiatives with RVP’s i.e., Casualty, Commercial Property Etc.
  9. Work with Business Intelligence and Finance to establish technical pricing and ensure that we are pricing new business to meet our profit objectives.
  10. Maintain a professional expectation and template for proposals.
  11. Provide professional development paths, mentorship, and coaching, training feedback to all staff.
  12. Establish competitive market intelligence so staff can leverage our advantages in the marketplace.
  13. Maintain sales maps and contact points for all territories.
  14. Manage Sales input into CRM tracking RFP’s, RFI’s, YTD performance, contact information, call notes, etc.
  15. Work with AR to keep our aged report to a minimum.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reports directly to the Managing Director, Business Development and works closely with the President, Canada and operations team.
  2. Manages, coaches and motivates sales, account management and business development team.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.


Experience:

Should include at least 5 years as an Account Executive preferably in the IA industry. Attendance at an accredited claim adjusting educational institute or claim adjusting experience would be helpful.

Skills & Knowledge:


  1. A comprehensive understanding of P&C insurance industry, particularly the claims process.
  2. The ability to analyze data, draw appropriate conclusions from it and discuss with clients in a meaningful way.
  3. Exemplary oral and written communication skills along with the ability to make presentations.
  4. Working knowledge of the CLUS organizational structure to extract efficient and effective responses concerning sales and service-related matters.
  5. Excellent relationship building skills.
  6. Understanding of the IA marketplace and knowledge of competing IA firms.
  7. Comfort with various corporate pricing approaches and market alternatives.
  8. Knowledge of current industry trends and legislative climate within IA industry.
  9. Demonstrated creativity and sensitivity in approaching potential clients as well as existing clients when discussing pricing and service delivery arrangements.
  10. High energy level coupled with flexibility and resilience.
  11. Excellent time management skills.
