Job Title: Structural Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team and perform structural welding within a shop environment. The role involves fitting and welding drilling products, fuel tanks, and other structural objects using mild steel. You will work both on benches fitting components for rigs and mobile oilfield units, as well as welding the structures of drilling rigs. The position entails a 50/50 split between fitting and welding, with a 20/80 split for night shifts. You will also utilize oxy fuel cutting torches, maintaining a fit-up tolerance of approximately 1/8".

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using mild steel.
• Fit and weld drilling products, fuel tanks, and other structural objects.
• Work on benches fitting together components for rigs and mobile oilfield units.
• Weld the structure of drilling rigs, maintaining a 50/50 split with fitting and welding.
• Use oxy fuel cutting torches with a fit-up tolerance of approximately 1/8".

Essential Skills

• Journeyman Welder with 5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in structural welding, fluxcore, and metalcore.
• Experience in fitting, including skids, ladders, handrails, and platforms.
• Capability in all position welding, including flux core, MIG, TIG, and structural steel.
• Possession of own tools, including fitting tools, grinders, tape measures, digital level, and standard tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CWB ticket for Flat, FCAW & SMAW.
• TIG welding experience.
• Experience in quality control.
• Alberta overhead crane ticket.
• Experience as a lead hand.
• Overhead crane experience or ticket.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
