They achieve this across industries, geographies and for every step on each customer’s unique journey. They are actively seeking a Site Manager (Electrical) to join their team on a long-term project.

The Site Manager (Electrical) is responsible for the successful execution of all activities on the assigned construction site, on-time, within budget, as per Contractual Scope and requirements, maintaining the highest standard of quality of the works, ensuring an incident free construction site and complete adherence by all personnel to the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and regulations.

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires travel to the Bruce A Project site in Tiverton, ON. All Accommodation will be paid for.

Job Responsibilities



1.

Site planning:

Plans project on-site activities with Project Manager including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones. Coordinates agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.



2.

Site coordination and monitoring:

Responsible, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, for coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. Prepares and conducts regular site progress meetings and reports towards HONI and subcontractors.

Critically reviews and comments subcontractors reporting. Ensures that meetings, reporting, decisions are properly minuted.

Also, well versed to handle greenfield/brown field/cutover/expansion jobs.



3. Stakeholder relations:

Serves as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.


Warrants that all tests are performed and accepted by the customer according to contractual conditions.

Foster a culture of proper understanding and adherence by all site personnel to the Health, Environment and Safety requirements of the business, Customer, and local authorities. Ensures that all activities are done with the expected quality and that all quality records are created and properly archived.

Maintains a good relationship with local authorities and organizations.

Ensures that all permits, licenses, and requirements are in place for a compliant execution of the site activities. Ensures a structured, up-to-date, and reliable documentation handling on site.

Ensures that the work is performed according to the latest approved processes, instructions, and guidelines.



Guarantees that all activities are performed within the defined contractual schedules and milestones. Understand the project budget and ensures that costs for the site activities are maintained within budget.

Maintains reliable cost forecasts and estimate at completion figures.

Ensures that contractual obligations are met and to the satisfaction of our customers.



4. Health, safety, and environment (HSE) and project security

Ensures detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the H&S plan.

Ensures all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project. Empowered to suspend any activities on site (be it by personnel or by subcontractors) in case of OHS violation and, if a situation arises, takes the necessary steps to ensure that HAPG employees and other persons who may be present are not put at risk.

Recognized Health, Environment and Safety certifications and training. OSHA, IOSH or NEBOSH preferred. core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Also, desired to have a great understanding of lockout tagout (LOTO) to execute the jobs during cutover in safe manner with zero fatality.



5. Material handling and Testing activities

Ensures correct handling, storage and installation of delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.



6.

Sub-contractors

Manages the sub-contractors on site to ensure necessary quality and progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.



7. Site cost Management

Controls project cost for the project site work, monitors actual spend.

Against forecasts and estimates final cost for the same. Manages the petty cash and has delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.



8.

Documentation

Ensures all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.



9. People leadership and development

Ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.

Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies. Coordinates local accommodation, site facilities, office equipment, petty cash, etc.



Qualifications and Requirements:



1.

Minimum 12+ years’ experience as Site Manager, on construction projects with a medium level of complexity. Able to showcase successes, failures and the lessons learnt.



2.

Electrician background / Electrical or equivalent qualification


3. Demonstrable understanding of Terms and Conditions typical used on Construction type Contracts.



4.

Willingness to relocate worldwide for the duration of the project wherever the construction site is located.


5. Experience in Civil Works, Installation and/or Commissioning activities.


Recognized Health, Environment and Safety certifications and training.

OSHA, IOSH or NEBOSH preferred.


6. Driven, structured, able to work and lead teams, goal oriented, eager to learn from experiences and adapt as may be required, able to easily gain and maintain trust and respect from employees and peers, able to work under stress conditions.

Previous Experience in Forman / Chargehand Role



7. Excellent communicator and management of customer relations


8.

Able to demonstrate negotiation skills in interaction with internal and external customers.



9. Should have the ability to assess, propose and implement solutions for rapid recovery.


10.

Candidate must be fluent in English.
