<h3>Job Description</h3><p>In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The commitment to continuous quality and safety improvement is inherent in all aspects of this position.</p><p>Reporting to the Manager or designate, the successful candidate will operate, maintain, and repair building systems and equipment.</p><p>This role involves performing trade duties at a journeyman level in one or more construction trade areas. Tasks include building demolition, renovation, construction, and possibly building system operation and/or maintenance. The position may also involve carrying out related administrative duties and supervising designated staff.</p><p>The role follows applicable organization policies, procedures, and standards.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><h3>Education, Training, and Experience</h3><ul><li>Certificate of competency as a 5th Class Power Engineer with Boiler endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.</li><li>Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li>Valid Class 5 Vehicle License.</li></ul><h3>Skills and Abilities</h3><ul><li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Ability to deal effectively with others.</li><li>Physical capability to perform duties.</li><li>Organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to operate related equipment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.</li></ul><p>For more details, view the <a href="#">full job description</a>.</p> #J-18808-Ljbffr
