Senior Tax Manager, Americas: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World

  • As our Senior Tax Manager, Americas, you will take the lead in driving tax operations across the Americas region. Reporting directly to the VP of Tax and overseeing a Tax Senior, you’ll be responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance, shaping strategic plans, and providing expert advisory support.
  • Your expertise will guide our operations in key markets including the United States, Canada, Argentina, and Chile. In this high-impact role, you’ll be instrumental in driving tax excellence, supporting business growth, and shaping the future of a sustainable, global organization.

Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:


  • Oversee preparation and review of Americas’ state, local, and indirect tax returns (corporate income, sales/use, VAT, personal property).
  • Manage global US GAAP tax accounting and reporting, including federal income tax provision, monthly/quarterly/annual estimates.
  • Maintain and improve tax processes for federal, state, local, and indirect taxes in the Americas.
  • Manage tax audits, inquiries, and research for federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Optimize Americas’ tax cash flow and engage in strategic tax planning.
  • Monitor legislative/regulatory tax law changes and assist with global transfer pricing and Pillar 2 compliance.
  • Participate in corporate projects (e.g., M&A, SAP, restructuring) and interact with external service providers.

What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):

CPA, Master degree in Taxation or similar certification and approx. 8-12 years of experience.



  • Ideally several years of experience as an inhouse Tax Manager and/or as a Tax Manager in an advisory firm.
  • Experience with US federal, state and local tax compliance for large multinational corporations. Exposure to non-US tax compliance.
  • Experience with US GAAP tax reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of US taxation rules and matters with some exposure to international taxation aspects and matters.
  • Experience with indirect tax matters, compliance, planning and setting up of processes within multinational organization(s).
  • Intermediate level knowledge/experience using SAP.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Down-to-earth, easygoing personality.
  • Team player and you are able to drive and lead the Americas’ Tax function and connect well with different people at all levels and in various teams within the Bakelite organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Domestic and international travel is expected to be around 20%.
