In this role you are the Archer expert exposed to a variety of projects and assignments, responding to service requests, problem solving, maintaining stability, performing technical implementations, and coordinate activities to maintain, enhance and customize the Archer application.

The successful candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, can work effectively with external consultants, business analysts, architects, designers, developers, technical infrastructure resources, account teams and business partners to build and implement IT solutions that meet business needs.

What Will You Do?

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge for the continued development of Archer and its day-to-day activities
  • Assist with the architecture and design of solutions within Archer to either expand upon core applications or develop on-demand applications to meet client requirements
  • Perform Impact Analysis on proposed changes and vendor platform upgrades
  • Configure and deploy packages, patches, releases in multiple environments
  • Contribute to project plans, estimations, and status updates
  • Identify gaps and issues, develop, and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (and be sure to communicate/alert stakeholders as needed)
  • Proactively put forward ideas that speak to project objectives (e.g., development, testing solutions, and tools)
  • Apply and share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (e.g., analyzes reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication)
  • Ensure Sun Life Information Security Policies and GCC are compiled to in any solution
  • What do You Need to Succeed?

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline
  • 3+ year experience as a full-time dedicated Archer system administrator
  • 5+ years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience
  • Archer Certified Administrator – Expert or working towards certification in next 6 months upon hiring.
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience with system performance analysis and testing
  • Familiar with FTP/SFTP network protocols
  • Proficient with the ITIL framework and processes such as Change, Incident, Problem, Release, and Configuration Management
  • Understanding of Agile Methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • What Will be Nice to Have?

  • Experience with web API development and Archer APIs
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Web Hosting concepts
  • Experience with ETL development (Informatica IDMC, PowerCenter)
  • Experience with DevOps Tools (Git, Bitbucket, TFS, Gradle, Jenkins)
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience in Risk management, Governance, IT security and / or Compliance functions a plus
  • Unique Requirements

  • Occasional weekend work in support of project delivery and implementations
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on work assignments
