<p><b>A Snapshot of Your Day</b></p>
<p>The Siemens Energy Grid Solutions Engineering department comprises professionals with experience in Primary, Secondary and Civil Engineering for detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction Projects for FACTS (SVC, FSC, HVDC), Substations (Air Insulated Substations and Gas Insulated Switchgear substations), Grid Access and electrification projects.</p>
<p>As a member of the engineering team, you will collaborate throughout the entire project lifecycle—preparing and reviewing detailed engineering documents for bidding, procurement, design, construction, and commissioning.</p>
<h3>How You’ll Make An Impact</h3>
<ul>
<li>Prepare, review, and modify engineering documentation and drawings, including wiring diagrams, station layouts, bill of materials, and cable lists for Substation and FACTS projects, as well as developing control room and switchgear layout drawings for proposals and projects.</li>
<li>Prepare Preliminary Power Single Line Diagrams, Aux Power Single Line diagrams and Protection One-line diagrams</li>
<li>Create and develop High Voltage and Medium Voltage substation layouts, including plan views, section views, equipment views, and details.</li>
<li>Perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.</li>
<li>Create Equipment Specifications and detail bill of materials and review customer request for proposal documentation and identify any necessary exceptions, deviations, or clarifications.</li>
<li>Development of scope of work and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) documents and high-level engineering execution plans for Siemens Energy engineering</li>
<li>Managing interfaces with multiple internal and external partners, including customers, Siemens Energy engineering teams, engineering contractors, suppliers, and site contractors.</li>
<li>Monitor / Report project engineering progress and implement mitigation and corrective actions in coordination with project management; help identify and analyze project risks, and help propose remedial actions</li>
<li>Perform technical due diligence and checking on supplier quotes for equipment and engineering services</li>
<li>Attend site visits as required to customer project locations during Request for Proposal phase to gather information, and during project phase to support construction and commissioning.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What You Bring</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of experience working on substation projects.</li>
<li>Experience with FACTS / SVC technology through formal education and / or project work is desirable.</li>
<li>Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.</li>
<li>Prior experience in engineering design for utility power projects is desirable.</li>
<li>Proficiency in AutoCAD.</li>
<li>Fluency in English is required to understand international documentation and communicate with global clients, suppliers, and colleagues, in a primarily French-speaking environment.</li>
