<p><h3>Overview</h3><p><b>Senior Mechanical Engineer - Hydroelectric Turbine Alternator Generator</b></p><p>Welcome to a place where people are at the heart of everything we do. The Energy & Resources team is a key player in the energy transition, with expertise across feasibility to commissioning and a focus on hydroelectric turbine alternator / generator projects.</p><p>The Engineer will join a dynamic team and provide services and advice on the design, manufacture, installation and operation of turbine and alternator components as part of constructing new power stations, refurbishing existing units, or optimizing operation. The position can be based anywhere in Quebec, preferably in the Greater Montreal or Sherbrooke areas, with a flexible hybrid work model.</p><h3>Primary Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Carrying out preliminary unit modernisation projects, including plant technical audits, analysing customer requirements and drawing up technical specifications</li><li>Carrying out engineering projects for generating set modernisation / replacement, new power plants, major parts refurbishment, power increase analysis, cost estimates, schedules, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies</li><li>Verification of compliance with contractual technical requirements of documentation produced by suppliers (drawings, calculation notes, manufacturing procedures, purchasing specifications, assembly procedures, etc.)</li><li>Technical writing, such as analysis reports, verification reports, technical modification requests, non-conformity reports, etc.</li><li>Follow-up of manufacture in the workshop and assembly / modification of units on site</li><li>Selection, optimisation and hydraulic sizing of turbines based on curves and reference hydraulic model tests</li><li>Calculations to optimise power plant output</li><li>Coordination of mechanical interfaces between turbine-generator sets and civil, mechanical and electrical plant structures</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent</li><li>Current member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registration</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, manufacture and assembly of turbine-generator sets</li><li>Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy</li><li>Fluency in written and spoken French</li><li>Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects at a national level</li><li>Willingness to travel to clients, on site, and to suppliers from time to time</li></ul><h3>Why choose CIMA+?</h3><ul><li>Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week</li><li>Employee and Family Assistance Program</li><li>Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution</li><li>As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees</li><li>Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode</li><li>Work / Life balance policy across Canada</li><li>3-5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience</li><li>Tailored training to improve your existing skills</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Ethics and integrity are fundamental values at CIMA+.
