Senior Flagperson/Trainer
Job Description
Are you interested in training other Flaggers/Traffic Controllers to do their job safely and professionally? We are currently seeking experienced Trainers for Flaggers/Traffic Controllers for the upcoming busy season You will play a crucial role in educating the importance of safely directing the movement of traffic, setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, and ensuring compliance with all relevant protocols.Responsibilities:
- Instruct how to direct and control the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the worksite.
- Provide detailed instructions on how to monitor and respond to changing traffic conditions to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Assist with set up, maintain, and adjust traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with students and provide clear instructions and information in accordance with provincial laws.
- Maintain detailed records of traffic incidents and control measures.
- Adhere to all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of "Train the Trainer Course".
- Completion of Alberta flagging certification is required.
- Previous experience in traffic control or flagging operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable standing, walking and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must have steel toe boots in good repair, hi vis vest, hi vis hard hat, safety glasses.
