<p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>Senior Estimator</strong> to join a leading construction firm working on large-scale projects up to <strong>$1B</strong>. If you have 7+ years in estimating, are confident leading design-build tenders, and thrive in a fast-paced environment</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Primary Scope of Role:</strong></p><p>• Accurately interpret and comprehend tender drawings and specifications for all projects up to $1 </p><p>Billion.</p><p>• Present all aspects of the project scope, staging, timing, constraints, risks, and potential </p><p>cost saving opportunities and alternatives to internal staff</p><p>• Able to successfully and independently lead a Design-Build project through the tender stage, </p><p>including involvement in team meetings</p><p>• Ability to chair meetings and set project goals</p><p>• Perform and/or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings.</p><p>• Prepare initial tender schedule for handoff to field staff.</p><p>• Consistently and insightfully formulate all tender costs—labour, material, equipment, and </p><p>procure subcontractor scope and costs—for quotation submission.</p><p>• Close tenders—including tender reviews and sub-proposal reviews and analysis.</p><p>• Accountable for accuracy of tender submissions.</p><p>• Prepares bid bond and insurance request forms</p><p>• Maintain files and correspondence on active tenders.</p><p>• Customer follow-up on submitted tenders/proposals.</p><p>• Cost out potential scope of work changes/additional cost/claims situations.</p><p>• Monitor active projects and provide job cost evaluation to management.</p><p>• Provide technical support to field staff.</p><p>• Communicate with field staff and Clients.</p><p>• Assist in maintenance of estimating department policies, procedures and standards.</p><p>• Mentorship of junior employees.</p><p>• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p><p>• University Degree – Civil Engineering or College Graduate – Civil Technology preferred.</p><p>• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in the construction industry, with 7+ years’ experience in </p><p>estimating.</p><p>• Direct experience in Design-Build estimates and team processes.</p><p>• Experience using a commercial bidding platform (In Eight Estimate preferable)</p><p>• Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.</p><p>• Computer proficiency – proficiency in an estimating package is a must, and Word and Excel would be an asset.</p><p>• Thorough understanding OPSS and CDED.</p><p>• Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.</p><p>• Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous </p><p>improvement across our business.</p><p>• Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.</p><p>• Valid driver’s license.</p><p>• Experience with MTO contracts and/or municipal works.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>We are an equal opportunity employer</strong> committed to inclusive hiring in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.</p><p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
