Senior Cost Accountant


About the Opportunity

  • Lead the annual labour and overhead rate calculations
  • Work on cost saving projects with operations and supply chain
  • Work on activity based costing. Analysis on contract margin and weighted average cost
  • Clear accrued freight and purchases; requires investigation of any discrepancies
  • Analyze and provide feedback on inbound transportation costs markups
  • Analyze and provide feedback on outbound transportation costs markups
  • Validate the labour IDs and ensure that the hrs allocation to production lines are accurate
  • Own the rebate process which includes entering rebates, working with procurement to submit the rebates to the vendors
  • Support finance team with analyzing the GL accounts
  • Support for Controller and Finance staff when necessary
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by Controller

  • About You

  • Accounting Designation
  • 3 years’ of cost accounting experience
  • Exposure to manufacturing and distribution an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interacts professionally at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to give strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Time management and adaptable to change is important
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
