Title: Senior Brand Manager, Ophthalmology

Job purpose

Lead the marketing planning for Ophthalmology, including promotional and disease awareness spend management and execution of tactics for the key brand.


Duties and responsibilities

  1. Development of the brand strategy in Canada and aligned globally.
  2. Lead positioning establishment for the brand.
  3. Developing key brand messages for the brand.
  4. Work with Commercial Operations to establish revenue forecast.
  5. Maximizing the impact of the critical customer touchpoints – Patient Support Programs, Field force, Tele-sales, Digital.
  6. Managing external agency partners to optimize the delivery of promotional tactics and materials and spend.
  7. Optimizing Omni-channel marketing approach to leverage brand awareness and value messages.
  8. Assisting with the design and planning on communication plan: getting the right message to the right customers at the right time through the right channel mix.
  9. Marketing analysis and insight development/action planning/execution.
  10. Assisting with planning and implementation of quantitative and qualitative market research initiatives to develop market understanding.
  11. Sharing insight gained from internal and external sources.
  12. Competitor analysis.
  13. Collecting, interpreting and disseminating competitor information.
  14. Segmentation – identify and plan/execute by segment to drive segment migration.
  15. Establishing basis of segmentation, quantifying and establishing segment needs.
  16. Assisting with planning, design and organization of key promotional stakeholder communication platforms, e.g., Speaker symposia, educational meetings.
  17. Periodically meets with top opinion leaders and establish good rapport with them.
  18. Assisting with training initiatives and regular team meetings as required.
  19. Responsible for communicating effectively within the sales and marketing, medical team on pertinent information.
  20. KPI (Key Performance Indicators) development and tracking.
  21. Cross-functional alignment: buy-in amongst colleagues, brand teams, BU (Business Units) engagement.
  22. Active participation in all supply discussions to ensure appropriate levels of supply and distribution are attained.
  23. Able to work cross-functionally and strong collaborator.


Qualifications

  1. Graduate of life sciences, such as medicine, nursing, physical therapy, psychology, pharmacy, biology, and medical technology.
  2. Preferably additional marketing or business training; MBA ideal.
  3. Has worked in pharmaceutical industry for at least 5 years as Brand Manager, or Sales Representative.
  4. 3-5 years Brand Management experience including launching key brands in local environment.
  5. Soft skills: organizational and analytical skills; ability to work in a specialist area; excellent communication skills; digital marketing/market research/selling skills are desirable; acting for change and able to co-operate transversely; striving for results; committed to customers; able to motivate and empower workgroups; self-awareness.
  6. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsets essential, strong presentation skills.
  7. Experience working with PAAB regulations, IMC and local compliance agencies.
