The team you will be a part of

The Finance General team manages the planning and direction of finance process and activities. Activities include the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs.

This role in summary

An integral member of the Canada Finance Team, the Finance Sr. Analyst will report to the Director, Finance. Specifically, the incumbent will lead the financial closure, planning and forecasting process for InSinkerator division and support financial processes of Whirlpool Canada’s major Domestic appliance business. Additionally, this role partners closely with the InSinkErator Canada general manager and US Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. The incumbent will be responsible for providing insightful analysis leading to actionable recommendations for both the function and business unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with other departments, seek continuous improvement opportunities, and engage in cross-functional strategic initiatives. This role is located in Mississauga.



Your responsibilities will include

  • Ownership of InSinkErator Canada controls and compliance including month-end closing journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset management, and cost accounting
  • InSinkErator Canada Cash management- oversight and related banking requirements
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly and year-end financial statements
  • Prepare managerial reports and complete variance analysis to forecast
  • Main conduit and contact with the InSinkerator United States FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) team
  • Key integration point oversight between operating platforms and reporting systems
  • Support Major Domestic Appliance businesses with annual financial processes and forecasting

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of Accounting or Finance experience
  • Charter Professional Accountant (Obtained or currently pursuing)

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Understanding of key financial concepts and working knowledge of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of information from many sources
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and interact successfully with local team and intra-regional contacts
  • Systems and application experience with Excel, Google, SAP, Blackline, Tableau, Anaplan
