Our client is an established independent insurance brokerage with over 50 years servicing the Canadian market with Commercial and Personal Insurance.

Currently they are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Manager who is a knowledgeable expert advisor in Commercial Insurance lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a book of business, servicing clients in an efficient, courteous and professional manner, and assisting the producer in obtaining, maintaining, and growing business.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for managing a renewal book of business
  2. Working closely with Producers and other staff members on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal while following best practices and procedures
  3. Initiating Account Planning with Producer in advance of the renewal
  4. Maintaining high retention rate on your book of business
  5. Coordinating, supporting plans, discussing arising issues and creating comprehensive plans for existing clients
  6. Developing new business from existing accounts and assigned leads
  7. Identifying cross-selling opportunities when appropriate
  8. Preparing proposals for prospect and stewardship reviews for existing clients
  9. Managing account documentation (routine inquiries, quotes, binders, statement of values, insurance contracts, endorsements, cancellations, etc.)
  10. Reviewing client’s current coverage and exposures, loss experience and analyzing risk to determine product/service requirements
  11. Maintaining up-to-date workflow documentation and ensuring workflows are followed
  12. Actively developing an increased knowledge of related insurance products
  13. Participating in and/or conducting client meetings when necessary
  14. Participating in training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge


REQUIREMENTS

  1. This is a hybrid position; must be able to work from Mississauga office 3 days per week
  2. 10 years of experience as a broker with 5 years working on large commercial accounts
  3. Solid understanding of policy wordings/coverages
  4. Ability to mentor others and proven negotiation skills
  5. RIBO License is required
  6. Strong attention to detail, time management, problem solving and analytical skills
  7. Ability to be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills


COMPENSATION

  1. Annual salary of $100,000 – $120,000 based on experience
