Scientist – Microscopy and Flow Cytometry

  • Help optimize new technologies for our diagnostic product;
  • Design, execute, and meticulously document experiments;
  • Quantitatively analyze flow cytometry and microscopy data and communicate results to fellow scientists and non-science members of the team;
  • Analyze clinical samples for assay validation;
  • Tap into various resources to support experimental design;
  • Help the team develop and achieve goals to meet ambitious timelines;
  • Construct, modify, and follow standard operating procedures in direct collaboration with the development team;
  • Transfer methods to other internal or external partners and support collaborations through defensible result production and QC procedures;
  • Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Communicate effectively to peers and leadership to support decision-making, including writing protocols and summarizing results in a report or presentation;
  • Mentor and help colleagues grow and develop skills.

What you’ll need:


  • D. with a minimum of 1 year of industry experience or a postdoctoral fellowship or M.Sc. with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in biochemistry, biology, immunology, hematology, or related field;
  • Competency in cell-based assays such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and biochemical assays;
  • Experience with design and execution of experiments in a wet lab;
  • High level of organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to communicate results and concepts clearly to team members;
  • Experience maintaining a research laboratory;
  • Research laboratory experience in relevant fields;
  • Experience with conducting experiments on, or maintaining instruments listed above;
  • Ability to multi-task, rapidly learn new techniques, and adapt to frequently changing job functions.
  • Familiarity with Python or other programming languages;
  • Familiarity with image processing software;
  • Familiarity with the medical device industry and associated regulatory pathways;
  • Experience with FlowJo, FACS Diva, or other flow cytometry analysis platforms;
  • Experience working with laboratory automation/liquid handling (i.e., TECAN);
  • Ability to write and maintain standard operating procedures;
  • Assay development experience with clinical samples;
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment;
