Position: Retail Space Analyst
Location: Toronto
The Retail Space Analyst will collaborate with the Senior Space Planner to develop, implement, and maintain merchandise planograms. This role is focused on ensuring that planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions, align with category strategies, and adhere to visual merchandising standards and optimization goals.
You will be responsible for creating and managing planograms in JDA, following the merchandising strategy, visual guidelines, and assortment clusters provided.
You will ensure compliance with merchandising safety standards. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess planogram performance, including sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency, and recommend adjustments that balance customer experience, store operations, merchandising strategy, and visual presentation.
You will also present your recommendations to the Space Planning and Merchandising teams for review and final approval. This position also offers the chance to participate in special projects that support the ongoing development of the department and drive the team toward innovation in Space Planning.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design and create effective planograms in JDA that maximize space usage, align with merchandising strategies and visual standards, and meet safety requirements.
– Analyze existing planograms to suggest optimizations that enhance both the customer experience and financial outcomes.
– Translate merchandising assortments and strategies into store-specific planograms, considering store layout, fixture types, and space availability.
– Ensure the accuracy of planograms by cross-checking against assortment listings and store data.
– Contribute to special projects aimed at continuously improving the team’s capabilities and processes.
Requirements:
– A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field of study related to the job.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
– Excellent communication skills.
– Proficiency in JDA Space Planning Software for building planograms.
– Advanced proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.
– At least 3 years of business experience, preferably in the retail industry.
