<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: <br /><p><strong>The Opportunity:</strong></p><p>The <strong>Recreation Therapist</strong> role will be serving the town of <strong>Care Human Services in Grimshaw, Alberta</strong>. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with a prominent level of focus in time management. </p><p></p><p><strong>We are seeking candidates interested in:</strong></p><p>Part Time permanent - 21 hours/week</p><p></p><p><strong>Skills and key deliverables that will take you further:</strong></p><ul><li>You are a patient exceptional leader - team player, motivator, coach, mentor, and professional role model</li><li>Able to coordinate within the vision, objectives, and guiding philosophy of Connecting Care</li><li>A strong personal commitment to Person Directed Care Current familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being</li><li>Strives to attain excellence in Resident, family member and employee care partner satisfaction</li><li>Friendly with a sense of humor and the utmost respect for everyone</li><li>Knowledge of supportive living services, assessment, and care planning</li><li>Maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards</li><li>Flexible, willingness to prioritize and re-adjust routines, open to change for the benefit of the community</li><li>Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, communication, and time and resource management skills</li><li>Excellent facilitation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, dealing effectively with difficult or crisis situations</li><li>Coordinates and oversees recreational care partner planning and scheduling as per budget guidelines, including overtime and time off approval and vacation requests</li><li>Exhibits excellent customer (hospitality) relations by being courteous, caring, understanding, compassionate and respectful to all Care Partners</li><li>Ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement</li><li>Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention and adheres to safe work Is mindful of the psychological health and safety of our Employee Care Partners</li><li>Supports the Residents lifestyle in their Community environment in accordance with the Residents individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare</li><li>Responsible for delegating, coordinating, and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan</li><li>Oversee the planning, implementation, and coordination of recreation services & programs</li><li>Enforces Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety</li><li>Performs other <span >services/tasks/duties</span> related to employee care partner role as assigned<strong></strong></li></ul><p><strong><span >Foundationalknowledge</span> and experience to grow from:</strong></p><ul><li>As of April 2021 a Degree in Recreation Therapy, Leisure Studies, or Recreation Administration is required; prior to April 2021, ATRA recognized the academic <span >qualifications/experience</span> of Therapeutic Recreation diploma graduates and if ATRA membership has been maintained this is adequate for your application</li><li>Registered with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) is required</li><li>Experience in recreation programs and providing recreation therapist services is required</li><li><span >Supervision/leadership/educator/facilitation/resolution/investigation</span> experience is required</li><li>Experience with proven performance in clinical practice is required</li><li>Obtain prior to employment, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check</li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Our Team?</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive compensation package</li><li>Opportunity for personal and professional growth</li><li>We provide an approach to care that supports the WHOLE person, that upholds their right to a life full of purpose, connection, empowerment, and possibility.<strong>*Read more about our philosophy <span >https://www.edenalt.org/</span></strong></li><li>Looking for a happy corporate culture!<strong>The term staff is not used here, we are Employee Care Partners!</strong></li></ul><p></p><p>Thank you for applying only successful candidates will be contacted. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
