Job Summary:

Job Summary:  Psychosocial Oncology, within the Hope and Healing Program, consists of a team of clinical counsellors, social workers and a child life specialist. Psychosocial Oncology Clinicians provide assessment, counselling services, resources and support groups for patients and families of CancerCare Manitoba. The incumbent's primary site is the MacCharles site (675 McDermot Ave.). Clinical assignments may be at other CCMB sites to provide coverage, if needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school/faculty, or a Provincially authorized post-secondary program, or the approved equivalent if internationally educated
  • A clinical internship/ field placement from an accredited program
  • Minimum of three years of clinical counselling/consultation experience
  • Registration or eligibility for registration by an appropriate licensing body
  • Experience with building relationships and working in collaborative partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must hold a satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Preferred:

  • Clinical counselling/consultation experience in a healthcare environment
  • Masters Degree in Social Work or other counselling related discipline
  • Ability to speak French
