Project Manager-Estimator
Location: Concord Ontario
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of projects including scope, schedule, budget, procurement, quality and risk.
  • Develops preliminary and final budgets for capital projects.
  • Directs and monitors construction schedules, approves progress payments, creates change orders.
  • Manage all aspects related to daily production, production issues, extra claims management and related time and material cost management.
  • Assists in design layouts, prepares and reads engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with authorities to ensure timely approval of permits to maintain schedules.

Estimating and Budgeting:

  • Develop accurate and detailed project estimates for civil infrastructure projects including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Review plans and specifications to determine scope of work and define project requirements.
  • Outline and communicate project requirements and timelines.
  • Review drawings and understand design intent.
  • Solicit quotes and tendering contracts from consultants, trades people and suppliers.
  • Issue purchase orders, subcontracts and prepare construction schedules.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs for labor, materials, equipment and sub-contractors.
  • Quote contemplated changes notices and manage change orders.
  • Manage site instructions, RFI's and responses.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in underground infrastructure projects
  • Strong background preparing consulting and construction contracts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Experience leading contractors and consultants
  • Proficiency with estimating software (B2W, Bluebeam, Excel), as well as project management software experience is an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel, B2W, Bluebeam
