Hays Civil Construction has partnered with our client to hire an experienced Project Manager – Infrastructure.

The business brings over 50 years of experience and expertise in a variety of Civil Infrastructure projects including sewer and watermains, transportation, dry utilities, shoring, road reconstruction, bridges, concrete forming, marine, environmental remediation and treatment plants / pumping stations. Due to continued growth, the business is excited to welcome aboard an experienced Project Manager to join the team.

Your new Role


As the Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall control, direction, and progression of contract work. This includes accountability for time, cost, quality, safety, and overall project performance. The Civil Project Manager’s primary objective is to deliver specified work on time, within budget, and to the desired level of quality and quality construction, while maintaining a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and safety. You will report to the Project Director.


What you’ll need to Succeed


As the Civil Project Manager, you will bring an Engineering Degree (Civil Engineering preferred), or a Construction Management Degree with Civil Construction experience; 5–10 years of construction experience is required; Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools; Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in highly demanding and time sensitive situations is essential; Valid Provincial Driver's License; Proficient in the English language (written and oral) with strong interpersonal and communication skills; Adept at multitasking and prioritizing; Familiarity with construction contracts, union agreements, and applicable legislation; Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills; Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail; Effective time management and organizational skills; Financial and risk management expertise; Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment; Negotiation and conflict management; Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, necessary; A basic understanding of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is an asset; Must be able to apply innovative management practices to maximize project perform; Strong commitment to Health & Safety and Quality standards; Must be legally eligible to work in Canada – no work permit sponsorship is available for this position.
