This role manages production staff, coordinates workflow, and collaborates with other departments to meet production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.</p><p></p><p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Demonstrate and uphold Riverside Core Values.</strong></p><p></p><ol><li><strong>Health, Safety, and Compliance</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Champion a safety-first culture, modeling compliance with all health and safety regulations.</li><li>Conduct daily safety inspections and correct unsafe behaviors immediately.</li><li>Investigate and report incidents, near misses, or hazards.</li><li>Ensure proper PPE, lockout/tagout, and Safety procedures are followed.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>Quality Assurance</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Ensure adherence to product specifications, GMP, HACCP, and BRC standards.</li><li>Collaborate with Quality Assurance to prevent and address deviations or non-conformances.</li><li>Conduct or participate in root cause analyses (RCA) when required, documenting findings and corrective & preventative actions.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>Production Management</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet daily and weekly output targets.</li><li>Allocate labor, materials, and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.</li><li>Maintain 85% floor presence to directly monitor workflow, equipment performance, and operator effectiveness.</li><li>Adjust production activities in real time based on output, staffing, or process constraints.</li><li>Track key performance metrics (OEE, yield, scrap rate, downtime, etc.) and communicate results.</li><li>Drive a continuous improvement mindset on the floor by encouraging operators to identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and take ownership of process improvements.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>Floor Leadership and Engagement</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Lead by example on the plant floor, ensuring visibility and accessibility to the team.</li><li>Conduct regular walk-throughs to monitor safety, quality, and productivity.</li><li>Coach and correct behaviors immediately to reinforce standards and expectations.</li><li>Hold daily shift huddles to review goals, issues, and performance results.</li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork through consistent floor presence and communication.</li><li>Work with P&V on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigation, corrective actions, and performance discussions, ensuring consistency with company policies and values.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>People Management</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Supervise, coach, and develop production employees through feedback and skill-building.</li><li>Review and approve employee hours through ADP, ensuring accuracy.</li><li>Monitor attendance and performance, addressing issues promptly and professionally.</li><li>Conduct performance evaluations and support career development.</li><li>Promote engagement and retention through recognition and fair treatment.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>Equipment and Maintenance</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Work closely with maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.</li><li>Support troubleshooting activities on the floor to reduce downtime.</li><li>Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues.</li><li>Assist with equipment changeovers and setup verification to minimize loss time.</li></ul><p></p><ol><li><strong>Communication and Reporting</strong></li></ol><ul><li>Prepare and submit shift performance reports, including downtime, output, and corrective actions.</li><li>Participate in production and cross-functional meetings to align on priorities and process improvements.</li><li>Ensure clear shift handovers, documenting issues and follow-ups.</li><li>Communicate changes to SOPs or production plans clearly and promptly.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Education & Qualifications </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Operations, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience)</li><li>5+ years of supervisory experience <ul><li>Experience using Lean Principles in manufacturing.
