Team & Job Overview  



The Process Performance Improvement (PPI) team falls under the Sustainable Business & Enablement group.PPI enables EDC teams to be more efficient and deliver greater value to Canadian exporters through centralized Business Process Management (BPM) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), combining the ability to proactively identify process automation opportunities, assess anticipated value and readiness with the capability to implement in a timely manner customer-centric, technology-independent automation solutions that are easily adopted and can scale across the organization. 

As the Process Automation Analyst, you will play a key role in providing centralized governance, asset management, bot development and support for RPA solutions, in partnership with the technology team that is accountable for the RPA platform, and reusable enterprise bot components.You will be required to work directly with leaders, process owners and subject matter experts in assessing process automation needs, designing, developing, and deploying the robot solution, as well as monitoring and supporting these solutions through their lifecycle.

Indirectly, you will also support decentralized teams of citizen developers in lines of businesses where the demand is significant to warrant proximity to operations and ongoing investment.



Key Responsibilities  

  • Drive process-based automation initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Work with business to review their manual processes to determine best fit for automation or suggest other solutions.
  • Design, build, document, and test robotic processes. Responsible for all aspects of the life cycle from development through to deprecation of the robotic processes.
  • Estimate efficiencies anticipated through the automation solution; analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing automation solutions.
  • Solve complex problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business and IT, ensuring investment decisions and business outcomes are optimized.
  • Monitor error logs of robotic processes and resolve issues when they occur.
  • User training for proper use of robotic solutions and ongoing support.
  • Support citizen developers and ensure that corporate standards, best practices, and principles are applied.
  • Screening Criteria


  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automating processes, not necessarily with RPA software
  • At least one year of programming experience in almost any programming language
  • Strong problem solving & innovation

  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
  • Advance knowledge of change management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of finance or insurance industry
  • Experience with UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate RPA platforms

  • Salary Range

  • Citizen Developer 17: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $81,012 To $108,017 plus a performance-based incentive.

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
  • This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hubs in Toronto/Mississauga, or Montreal/Brossard/Laval.
