Island Health is hiring a permanent full-time Practice Leader .

This position is based at Port McNeill Hospital.

Financial incentives
$15,000 – Rural & remote nursing incentive (after employment in positions commences, in exchange for a 3-year return of service commitment).
Up to $2,000 per year reimbursement of professional development fees (to a maximum of $8,000, in years 2-5).
Up to $2,000 in quarterly for retention incentives.



What you will do

You are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the North Island Community Health Services. You provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team and coordinate and facilitate daily clinical activities, ensuring effective use of resources.

You act as the communication liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as other health care professionals and administrative personnel outside the health unit/service. You supervise and evaluate staff, provide leadership and function as a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of health unit/service goals.



In this role, you take a long range view of operations and service delivery and follow through on issues that impact on the overall quality of client care provided.

You develop policies and procedures/standards for operationalizing client care at health unit/service level and provide leadership within the unit/service for quality and risk management activities.

To join our team, you will have
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s degree in Nursing is an asset).
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
Five years of recent, related experience.
Experience in Community Health.
Two years of supervisory experience.
