<p>61 Main St N, New Bothwell, MB R0A 1E0, Canada</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>Posted Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 4:00 AM</p><p><strong>Department: </strong>Finance</p><p><strong>Reports to: </strong>Director of Finance, Dairy & Supply Chain</p><p><strong>Status: </strong>Full-time</p><p><strong>Purpose:</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Director of Finance, Dairy & Supply Chain the scope of this position involves assisting with all accounting responsibilities associated with providing the standard costing, month-end closing and financial reporting for the Bothwell Plant & Business Unit. This role will have one direct report.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Create, Maintain, Update Standard Costs for manufactured products</li><li>Support Operations with production reporting requirements</li><li>Finance Lead for ERP Conversion Project & other integration initiatives</li><li>Support Corp Accounting Needs (Budget, M/E, Y/E, Tax Fillings & Audits)</li><li>Analyze variances to standard costs & operation benchmarks</li><li>Report milk and usage to the Dairy Board</li><li>Prepare and complete monthly finance close and management reports</li><li>Prepare cost estimates for new products</li><li>Assist with cost benefit analyses for CapEx projects, monitor spend</li><li>Calculate actual savings from Cost savings initiatives</li><li>Prepare and present annual plant budget</li><li>Other duties and projects assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Academic/ Educational Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary education and holds a CPA designation</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of 5 years accounting experience within a food processing or manufacturing environment</li><li>Strong cost accounting background</li><li>Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics an asset</li><li>Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel</li><li>Effective analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal</li></ul><p><strong>Gay Lea Foods </strong>is a proud Canadian-owned dairy food and beverage company with a robust portfolio that includes 7 established brands such as Gay Lea Butter, Nordica Cottage Cheese, Ivanhoe Cheese, Salerno Cheese, and Hewitt’s Dairy.Our wide range of products are sold in Retail, Foodservice, Industrial, Co-pack, and Export markets, developed and produced out of our 13 manufacturing facilities in Ontario and Alberta.</p><p>Delivering high-quality and innovative products - from the consumer favourite Spreadables and North America’s first Smooth Cottage Cheese, to Nothing But Cheese, an innovative snack made with 100% cheese, is what makes us market leaders in our categories.
