Our team is seeking a regulated professional physiotherapist to provide essential and specialized care to inmates at Warkworth Institution in Ontario. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of a population with specific needs in a rewarding environment.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Provide physiotherapy services to inmates during a weekly 7-hour clinic (approximately 360 hours per year), in accordance with recommendations from the institution’s doctors and nurse practitioners.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Health Services or their delegate to sort and organize consultations, following established clinical priorities.
  • Develop treatment plans respecting the guidelines of the National Essential Services Framework.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention practices, including the use of disposable medical instruments, and comply with provincial sterilization standards.
  • Provide all necessary equipment to perform interventions, in compliance with provincial laws and the institution’s policies.


Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Member in good standing of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Experience: Experience in a correctional or institutional setting is an asset.
  • Clearance: A security clearance will be required upon hiring.


Conditions:

  • Contract position for an initial duration from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
  • Location: Warkworth Institution, Ontario.
  • Salary: $150/hour
  • Schedule: Approximately one 7-hour clinic per week (360 hours per year).
  • The provider is responsible for supplying all necessary equipment and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
