Job Overview
Mughal Mahal has been serving Ontario since 1990 with a commitment to authentic Indian flavours and culinary excellence. As we continue to grow and modernize our offerings, we’re looking for a talented and passionate Part-Time Curry Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to both our traditional recipes and new-age menu innovations.
We are seeking a creative, skilled, and reliable Curry Chef to join us two days a week. This chef will play a vital role in:
- Preparing batch recipes of core curries and sauces for the week (from butter chicken to vindaloo and beyond)
- Supporting menu development for modern Indian and fusion dishes
- Bringing culinary creativity to the table by suggesting new items that blend Indian tradition with global trends
- Contributing to the refinement of both classical Indian dishes and progressive cuisine with a modern twist
Who You Are:
- Proficient in cooking traditional Indian curries and gravies (North Indian focus preferred)
- Comfortable experimenting with fusion and contemporary dishes
- Passionate about food presentation, flavour balance, and culinary storytelling
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently during scheduled prep days
- Enthusiastic about sharing your inspiration, creativity, and ideas with the team
Responsibilities:
- Execute large-batch curry preparation based on standardized recipes
- Assist with R&D on seasonal and modern Indian menu items
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards at all times
- Bring energy, ideas, and innovation to the kitchen
- Work collaboratively with the executive team on flavor testing and new item rollout.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a curry chef in an Indian kitchen
- Proven experience with batch prep and working in a commercial kitchen
- Deep understanding of spices, techniques, and regional Indian cooking
- Creativity and openness to new culinary trends and fusion concepts
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
