Job Description
Orthopedic Arthroplasty Surgeon – Full Time
Join the Concordia Joint Replacement Group (CJRG) at Concordia Hospital, the University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba to expand our academic clinical and research program in hip and knee arthroplasty.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat hip and knee disorders and perform adult reconstructions arthroplasty.
- Provide inpatient and ambulatory patient care, including pre‑operative evaluation, operative surgery, post‑operative management, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in a 1‑in‑12 orthopaedic general call schedule and a 1‑in‑7 hip and knee arthroplasty‑specific call schedule.
- Teach medical students, orthopaedic residents, and arthroplasty fellows.
- Lead and participate in academic research, including grant writing and publication.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine with specialization in Surgery.
- Eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Completed at least one year fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty.
- Comfortable with community‑level musculoskeletal trauma management.
- Advanced degree supporting research and/or education preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Fee‑for‑service income blended with a Minimum Income Guaranteed. Specialty physicians may receive a recruitment incentive. Benefits provided through the University of Manitoba include pension, life insurance, disability, dental, supplementary health coverage, and a healthcare spending account.
