Scope:

The Distribution Center Order Picker is primarily responsible for accurately selecting, scanning, and preparing products in a warehouse environment. This role involves locating and retrieving items, ensuring order accuracy, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Order Picker plays a crucial role in meeting customer expectations by ensuring timely and efficient order fulfillment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pick, scan and pack products based on customer orders using handheld scanners, and material handling equipment (carts/pump trucks/forklifts)
  • Able to follow an outlined process for picking & packing orders
  • Able to follow instructions on an RF gun for picking product code (UPC), and quantity of ordered items and the locations to pick from
  • Consolidate and skid product by UPC for shipments and deliver orders once complete to the staging areas
  • Report and communicate issues directly to the department Lead and/or Supervisor
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or order picking role is an asset
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry items up to 50 pounds for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Must be available to work extra hours and occasional weekends in peak season (typically October to December)

The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer which will be contingent upon a successful background clearance obtained through our contracted third-party vendor. The standard clearance requirements depend on the position and may include some or all of the following: criminal or credit clearance, employment verification, education verification, and driver’s abstract review.
