Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered care across diverse populations, including pediatrics and senior care. The Optometrist will utilize advanced technology such as Jane electronic health records to ensure efficient and accurate documentation. This position emphasizes excellent patient care, clinical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and patients alike.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and eye health
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatments or interventions
  • Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, utilizing medical terminology accurately for documentation and communication
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, including senior care and pediatrics
  • Utilize Jane electronic health records system for documentation, orders, and patient tracking
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and available treatment options
  • Stay current with advancements in optometry practices and technologies to enhance patient outcomes
  • Business Registration for supplies, insurance/private billing and having a Independent contractor agreement

Qualifications

  • Valid provincial license as an Optometrist with current certification to practice
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and vision care
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient populations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including children and seniors
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry best practices
