The Opportunity:


We are recruiting for a NURSE PRACTITIONER (EATING DISORDERS PROGRAM)

This is a regular full-time role (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) based at 80 Waterloo Ave. Guelph with travel to Langs Community Health Centre in Cambridge up to one day per week supporting children and adults.



Working from a holistic and recovery oriented paradigm, the Nurse Practitioner provides identification and management of eating disorder concerns including mental health treatment and support to clients while participating in the community based services of the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington’s Eating Disorder Program.

Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Eating Disorders Team, the Nurse Practitioner will: provide face-to-face assessments and medical monitoring for clients in the Eating Disorders Program; provide education and consultation to primary care providers to support their capacity for medical monitoring of Eating Disorders; provide necessary referrals to higher levels of care, including inpatient programs; and adhere to agency medication reconciliation and documentation guidelines.

The Nurse Practitioner will support the Eating Disorders Team by attending case conferences, team meetings and treatment groups. This position reports to the Manager, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy & Eating Disorders Services.



Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Nurse Practitioner’s Certificate from a recognized program and registration in the Extended Class (EC) with the Ontario College of Nurses
1-2 years of recent clinical nursing experience relevant to chronic disease management, mental health care and treatment, emergency care and/or urgent care
Ability to function in a full scope NP role in a collaborative and interdisciplinary setting
Strong health assessment and diagnosis skills
Self-directed individual with strong team skills
High degree of flexibility
Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories including trauma, 2SLGBTQI+)
Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to social and cultural diversity
Highly developed organizational, communication and problem solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and various database software
Ability to work with all levels of the organization
Valid driver’s license and access to own transportation

CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: LEVEL 9 (OPSEU) $65.59 to $79.98 per hour
