Warehouse Manager

Position Summary:


The primary function of this person will be to manage the warehouse locations for Skyjacks Plant 1, Plant 2 and K1 facilities. Working closely with the Materials Manager, ensure all key warehouse functions are efficiently completed to meet the replenishment needs of production and shipping needs of our internal and external customers.

Performance Expectations:


· Acts as the central managing contact for all 3 warehouse locations in Ontario


· Coordinates and leverages resources to meet the warehousing and shipping needs of all facilities. 


· Ensures adherence to all standard processes in all 3 warehouses

· Develops and implements continuous improvements across all 3 facilities


· Manage Warehouse Supervisor, Cyle Counters, Material Handlers, and Material General Labourers.

· Ensure Shipping & Receiving tasks are completed on time.


· Oversees the shipments of all finished goods to Skyjack customers.

· Ensures the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through the warehouse.


· Ensure line replenishment is carried out effectively based on production schedules.

· Effectively manage Inventory Storage


· Manage and co-ordinate Inter Plant Shunting

· Develops and maintains shunt schedules to satisfy plant demands


· Responsible for the accuracy of inter-pant transfers and shipments

· Maintain a system which tracks material and provides location accuracy.


· Conducts physical cycle count in line with corporate requirements

· Manage and ensure the safety of Material Handling Equipment


· Manage and control the Shipping Docks & Yards

· Achieve Warehouse KPI’s


· Oversees Refit (light assembly) targets and attainment (K1)

· Maintains the facilities 5S requirements.


· Ensures tasks as assigned from Monthly Workplace Inspections are completed on time and conformance to all health and safety policies.


Credentials:

  • Experience managing or supervising in a warehouse environment.
  • Degree or college diploma in a related field or relevant work experience.
  • Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience as a Warehouse Manager or Supervisor in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the materials management field with specific emphasis on warehousing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a projects and implement material system changes.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Great communication skills, the ability to work with a team and get results.
  • Understands the supply chain in manufacturing and JIT delivery systems to production and inter-plants
  • Good understanding of inventory replenishment systems, Kanban, pull systems, MRP and independent ordering systems.
  • Experience with lift truck, warehouse storage equipment and tools
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures involved in manufacturing and warehousing.
