<p>A Day in the Life: </p><p>The Manager, Truck Transportation and Logistics is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans for truck logistics providing a competitive advantage to the company through a combination of superior service to internal/external customers, cost efficiencies and minimizing risk.</p><p> </p><p>What You’ll Be Doing: </p><ul><li>Leads the development, implementation and management of cost effective and efficient truck transportation policies and plans to execute sales and marketing programs. </li><li>Develops, implements and manages strategic business plans for country infrastructure, grain sales, and fertilizer movement. </li><li>Researches, develops, implements and manages cost-effective transportation options for commercial grain. Negotiates and manages contracts with freight suppliers. </li><li>Builds and manages relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction, adherence to contract terms and continued growth and maintenance of those strong business relationships. </li><li>Leads truck transportation staff through a rapidly changing business environment to become providers of logistics solutions that deliver superior financial results. </li><li>Maintains up to date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities in order to revise transportation strategies and programs that capitalize on identified opportunities. </li><li>Establishes procedures and manages transportation claims resulting from weight loss, damage or other claims to ensure satisfactory dollar value settlements are achieved. </li><li>Resolves problems with both external and internal customers on freight utilization. </li><li>Responsible for all aspects of the team’s human resource management including hiring, promoting, performance management and discharging within company policy. </li><li>Lead, coach and manage the team to ensure excellence, awareness and commitment to the client, team and the department’s goals and objectives. </li><li>Performs other duties as required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Skills/Experience Requirements: </p><ul><li>Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible transportation/logistics experience</li><li>Post secondary degree preferred. </li><li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence will be considered.</li><li>Completion of Level 3 Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) is an asset. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions. </li><li>Ability to plan, organize and direct grain movement. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in analyzing freight movement and developing logistics plans. </li><li>Experience in developing negotiation strategies and in undertaking rate negotiations. </li><li>Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, databases, communication and word processing software applications.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>At Bunge, people don’t just come here to work, they come here to grow – solving challenges that directly impact the world with a diverse and talented team working to make us the most innovative and dynamic company in our industry. <strong> </strong>Bunge offers a strong compensation and benefits package and most importantly, in all we do we live our values: </p><ul><li>We Are One Team by fostering collaboration, respect, and inclusion </li><li>We Lead the Way by being agile, empowered, and innovative </li><li>We Do What's Right by acting safely, sustainably, and with integrity </li></ul><p> </p><p>Bunge (NYSE: BG) is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients.
