About the Post


This is a fixed‑term post of 12 months. The role will attract 9 Direct Clinical Care Programmed Activities (PAs) and 1 PA for Supporting Professional Activities, totaling 10 PAs. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to maintain, deliver and develop their range of anaesthetic skills in elective and emergency theatres across Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital and the Victoria Hospital.


Responsibilities



  • Provide anaesthetic care in a range of surgical specialties including Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Vascular, ENT, Renal Access, Transplant, Urology and Emergency Surgery.

  • Work within the Theatre and Anaesthetic Service of the South Acute Sector, collaborating with an established team of over 80 Anaesthetic Consultants.

  • Maintain and develop anaesthetic skills through both elective and emergency work.


Qualifications



  • Full GMC Registration, licence to practise and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.

  • UK‑trained applicants: evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.

  • Non‑UK‑trained applicants: demonstration of equivalent training.
