Responsibilities
for the Land Development Engineer:
Project Planning and Feasibility Assessment: Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess the viability of land development projects. Collaborate with stakeholders including architects, urban planners, and regulatory bodies to define project scope and objectives. Design and Engineering: Develop preliminary and detailed designs for infrastructure systems such as roads, utilities (water, sewer, stormwater), and grading plans. Ensure designs comply with municipal codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements. Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit permit applications and environmental assessments. Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits. Construction Oversight: Provide technical support during construction phases, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve any technical issues that may arise. Risk Management and Problem Solving: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Address technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to optimize project outcomes. Client Interaction and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project updates and technical information to clients, consultants, and stakeholders. Foster positive relationships and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications for the Land Development Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred. Proven experience in land development engineering, preferably within the GTA or similar urban environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software. Strong knowledge of municipal planning processes, building codes, and environmental regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
