Responsibilities

for the Land Development Engineer:


  • Project Planning and Feasibility Assessment:
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess the viability of land development projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including architects, urban planners, and regulatory bodies to define project scope and objectives.
  • Design and Engineering:
  • Develop preliminary and detailed designs for infrastructure systems such as roads, utilities (water, sewer, stormwater), and grading plans.
  • Ensure designs comply with municipal codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and environmental assessments.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Construction Oversight:
  • Provide technical support during construction phases, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Address technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Client Interaction and Stakeholder Management:
  • Communicate project updates and technical information to clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Qualifications for the Land Development Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • Proven experience in land development engineering, preferably within the GTA or similar urban environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal planning processes, building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
